  1. i dont think a 318 will have these toys.318's are the base models with the 316's.i may be wrong though.my 323 is an se and it has all the toys but my mates 318 that is a year newer hasnt got anything....like i say though i may be wrong.let me know how you get on mate.get some pics up

They are available as extras, and I think a few years later the SE models come with them as standard. But yeh, I'm not hopeful mine will either, I'll know tomorrow night :D

This is only my second car anyway, will keep this 318i for 18 or so months then look to move to an E90 or something nicer :-) My dad and I have always been BMW men.

  2. are we taliing the e46 mate?

It is an e46 sorry, 2000 Vreg, but definitely an SE, that's what comes up when I enter the numberplate into insurance. I have a picture of the back and you can't see the little circles that indicates there's sensors there... Unless BMW hide them for aesthetics.

Also wikipedia says multifunction steering wheel comes as standard on all SE's but looking on autotrader there are a few the say they're SE with the bog standard steering wheel. I pretty sure my V reg SE doesn't have these lovely toys (I pick it up tonight so I'll soon find out)

  3. According to wikipedia "The SE trim level included the options the ES trim level was given, but added cruise control as part of the multi-function steering wheel, headlight washers, parking sensors, leather steering wheel and gearknob.[21]"

I'm picking up me 318i SE on Monday and I don't think it had parking sensors or cruise control... Or was I just in such a hurry to leave a deposit I didn't notice?

  4. Im a born haggler mate, its just my way ;) and its always worth a try :)

Oh I'd never pay list price on any car, When I sold my Pug I said to myself "I wan't £500 for it, so i'll put it up for £650"

And as above, I offered him £950, said he wouldn't go below a grand, I've look around and there are 316's with 120k on the clock going for more lol

  5. I shook hands on £1000. There are some scratches and dinks, but nothing you'd see as I drive past. I know its not rock bottom price, but them alloys are spotless and only just been put on it a few months ago.

Also it was owned by the wife of a taxi mechanic, just had an oil service and just had belts done. Everything else has been done as it needs to have been done, so i'm happy she's a good little runner.

Anyone got any views on performance? I know its only the 8valve putting out 116 BHP... Would have preferred a 18i from 2002+ to get the 140bhp but it was cheap enough I overlooked it. The plan is to drive that for 1 or 2 years while I save up for an e90 ;)

But yeh, I dont need a lot of power at all, have been driving around in a 1360cc 206 with 68bhp and no torque to speak of.
