  1. Happy Birthday paulh617!

  2. Evo triangle is amazing. Did this run in an astra sri last year. Loved it. I need to show it to my BMW. Any chance of heading up there again as a group?
  3. Cheers guy i will have a good inspection of the diff see if i can locate the problem. Couple of questions. If i was to have the diff or bushings changed what are we talking in labour costs? A big job removing the drive and prop shafts not something i wud wana do myself. also can anyone recomend what oils to use for the transmission and difderential.
  4. Cheers, i have done a bit of reasearch on this and am getting a lot of different answers. main ones being, a common problem is the donught that connects the prop shaft to the gearbox, had it on the ramp today and this looks new, some people are saying it a normal clunk, and also heard it could be the rear diff bushings/mounts. I may start off getting trans fluid and diff fluid changed, if this dont work maybe look at getting the diff bushing replaced?
  5. Only tonight i notices my bmws gears started clunking. Every single gear. During the change it does not feel smooth. There is a clunk sound coming from the mid to rear end as if i can physically hear it engaging. Any ideas what the problem could be guys?
  6. Hi Guys, bought this car a couple of weeks ago. Its running well but there is something up with the handling its not ideal. It has covered 106,000 Miles. While driving I am having to correct the steering to keep the car in a straight line, not that noticable around town but at motorway speeds its fairly bad. It has just had an MOT and had inspection 1 done on it at 93,000 miles. I am taking it to have the 4 wheel alignment done tomorrow as this is obviously the first thing that springs to mind. Anything else i should check for initially? cheers guys. any advice is much appreciated
  7. Cheers guys! I hope i have many happy years to come driving my BMW :D

  13. Also saturday im taking it to an indi garage.. oil service and brake fluid change ive been quoted 162 inc vat. This sound decent?
  14. Sound, i guess i will just have to see how i go. Fingers crossed i hope i have bought a gem! Was a tad nervous investing a wad of my hard earnt cash into a car reading 106k. Just hope these bmw things are as solid as people say they are :D
  15. Sound sound. Is there anything i should check for while its up on the ramp this weekend. Garage are gonna check handbrake linkage. Can hear a scoring sound coming from the rear when i apply the brakes and handbrake ocasionaly sticks, they wreckon could be the linkage. Whats this i read about control arm bushings being another common item to replace along with water pump etc...
