  1. Hi, I have just joined the club today. The ones I fitted today needed an inverter, my friend, whoes car I fitted them to wanted to fit them to his side lights, but if you want them on as soon as you turn on, the power will have to come from.... probably the same source as the radio, if that turns on with the ignition, but not completely certain. I have just added a post on fitting which might be of some use even thouigh it may not be the same model of car. Take care brian
  2. Above all keep everything clean. If you get finger prints/glue on the lenses etc, you will either have to take time recleaning, or at worst you may only see it after you have re-assembled. MOST OF THE LENSES ETC ARE PLASTIC AND EASILLY SCRATCHED. I have today fitted Angel eyes to an 02 Z3. The first side took about 3 hours, the 2nd 45 mins. A few points that might help. 1) Be careful when heating and splitting the lens cover off, so that you do not get any melted glue on the lenses. THE LENSES FALL OFF THEIR MOUNTS IF YOU TAKE THE FRONT COVER OFF WITH THE LIGHTS FACING DOWN. 2) Some Light assembly units are sealed with a glue that you cannot heat to get the front off. So do not force them apart if there is no give on heating. (I used an hair drier). 3) Each pair of eyes are different so make sure you know which ring goes on which lamp (Bar goes to the top). 4) Keep clear of the chrome on the lens, IT WILL COME OFF SO EASILY, so keep any double sided tape away from it. 5) You may have to make a cut in the rim of the light assembly (Black) so that the wires do not obstrct the lenses fitting flat agaist the housing, when the Angel Eyes are fitted. 6) ""The bottom of the Angel Eyes must not be below the bottom edge of the lens, as it is the cover that holds the lenses in place and you will not get the cover back together without re-positioning the Angel Eyes. 7) If you fit some strong elastic bands around the lens cover/light assebly unit, it will help pull the 2 parts together as you heat them to re-seal. Leave bands on for about 15 mins after heating to aid them staying together as the glue cools. 8) Do a final check that they work before you bolt the lights back. 9) To refit the near side bottom bolt, if your socket is not magnetic, you can hold the bolt in place in the socket with chewing Gum. (you will understand when you try to re-fit it. I know I have gone on a bit, but this will save you a lot of time if you follow this. If you need any other advise mail me.
