  1. Had a BMW specialist came down and he had a good look... took him 2mins... took the oil filter out and showed me the metal filings all over... he said bottom end gone.. this is on an engine that was rebuild ~2000 miles ago.. I am heart broken to be honest... people scamming like this... I dont know what hes done on the rebuild if it only lasted 2k miles...
  2. It’s the first start of the day… any ideas.. I am quite lost… IMG_3908.MOV
  3. Just over 100k... Dont think the DPF is going to block while driving on the motorway... would it..?? besides i just went to london the other day with no issues. i will post a video of the issue a bit later on.. after cranking it would violently shake and sputter and turn itself off in around 5-7sec. so I'm thinking high pressure fuel pump.. or the injectors.. ?
  4. The recovery person said it’s to do with DPF… it’s not holding idle either… will a blocked DPF be the reason..?
  5. Today morning after about 2 miles drive.. low oil pressure warning came and car was shaking quite a bit.. so pulled over in the hard shoulder.. Each time I crank it shakes quite violently… any thoughts guys… is this an oil pump issue..? there is no oil leak I can see .. and checked the dipstick and on board oil level and seem fine… there was oil burning I could smell…
  6. Auto hold, Auto wipers and high beam assist... why don't they stay on after turning the car off..?? Are they designed to turn off after vehicle shut down..? or is it just my 640d.??
  7. Fixed.. Bad starter... a swap has fixed the issue..
  8. figures... the one i have on the car doesn't look anything what is on the link. So looks like what i have might not be for a gran couple but somehow all the holes match up.
  9. i havent tried that... i will give it go.. keep you posted
  10. yes... bought start stop battery... had an overcurrent error from the starter motor .. so going to install another starter over the weekend.. i also have this new error, where when trying the car (start button push), it says ignition fault... and then makes a clicking sound a couple of times and then starts on the third start button press.. but there are no error codes... baffling
  11. My gran coupe only came with one under tray. it covers the front engine, is there another one missing.. i can see the starter motor, surely that should be covered as well, right? I has a look online for parts and i cant seem to figure this out.. any help is appreciated.
  12. My 6 Series has this issue with start stop.. were it stops, but wont start.. it would go into P and then would say start engine manually. has anyone had this issue.? It has a new battery and i have coded/registered to the car. So not sure what the issue is.. before the battery change it wouldn't work at all..
