  1. If you have just bought the car it could be something that the Valet bay may have sprayed on as they prepped it for collection, i would certainly take it back to the dealer and enquire about it as its certainly not normal
  2. Yes i guess that is the only way to find out for sure dabsy, although i did read that someone disconnected thier battery and reconnected it and the light reset itself after he drove about 60 miles, ahh well ill get the part and fit it and see what happens, thanks mate.
  3. Well had the 523i since Sunday, and boy am i glad to be back behind the wheel of another one, i have had a couple of niggles with the car one been a vibration at 75 mph, which i was told maybe wheel balance so i had the front wheels balanced, but i haven't had chance to get up to 75 to see if the balance has cured the problem, whilst at the tyre place they informed me that the rear tyres want replacing, so they are on order ready to be fitted this Thursday, the other niggle was the asc light is permanently on, after doing some research on the net, i have found that the wire from the throttle actuator is missing, so a trip to the main stealer is in order to get a replacement, but does anyone know if i need to get the light reset or not, any info greatly received.
  4. Hi all and thanks for the warm welcomes, well picked my Beemer up today, and her she is i paid £ 700.00 for her and she had a new bottom end last year and she has had the head re-skimmed and valves done she didnt miss a beat on the way home, there was a slight vibration at 75 mph which i suspect is due to wheel balance which ill get done tomorrow and the only other niggle is the asc light is stuck on, but in all i am very happy with the car.
  5. Hi to you all, my name is Dean and i am from N.E. Lincolnshire, i have owned a 316 i and a 318i coupe, then i moved on to a 523i se which i sold 4 years ago since then i have owned various cars and 4x4's, but have always regretted getting rid of my 5 series, so i have just bought another 523i se which i pick up on sunday, so i decided to join the club and here i am.
