  1. Thank you for your research! The seats in the 88 M6 have several motors for seating positioning, plus modules for memory, switches for positioning, etc- probably Bosch. The master seat control module under the driver’s seat in the US module (and probably in the 635CSi) was this Brose unit. The picture of the label that started this thread is from my actual unit.

     It’s hard to believe no one has decided to repair these- it appears to be a common issue in these older 6 series autos. This was apps the most advanced motorized seat BMW made at the time. It seems that there is some money to be made fixing these….
