  1. Hi Dave, many thanks for your response. It's proving difficult to isolate as the more I read the more it becomes apparent that the N47 is just a poor engine. Could be any number of things! I have posted it on babybmw but ive not had any steers other beyond resetting fault codes etc. A BMW tech has just told me to check and clean the swirl flaps as this could be a problem. YouTube very kindly provides videos on how to remove the swirl flaps, but also videos on why you should never remove the swirl flaps on an N47. Looking forward to watching this evening!
  2. Evening all, im trying my best not to regret selling my E39 530 prior to buying an E87 120d (2007, N47)… I took a chance on a spares or repair but I suspect the seller knew more than he was letting on. When the car arrived it had the rail pressure sensor unplugged - so it would drive but lacked any kind of power. Once plugged back in, the car pulls like a train up to 3500 rpm at which it misfires and judders. The fault clears itself once revs drop back below. No fault codes are being stored however. I suspect it is either over fuelling or putting oil in the bores. Can any of you 1 series specialists point me in the right direction? Hopefully not back to the classifieds - I want to believe BMW still make cars like they made my 530! Many thanks in advance. Paul
