hi that's what I've done unplugged the parking sensor under the spare wheel . i'll have a look at the sires you mentioned and thanks for taking the time to reply to me cheers Paul

Hi Dave thanks for the reply , yes I've unplugged the parking sensor no difference still beeping . I tried taking out fuses but no joy , that's why I wondered if there was sensor in the tailgate area for the rear shockers or suspension or something. I've always done repairs on cars myself but this is going beyond me and yes all BMW s do beep lol cheers Paul

I have a 2007 x5 and lately I have been getting a beeping noise which sounds as if it is coming from around the gear stick. it fluctuates from beeps to a constant tone and it's loud and driving me insane . its nothing to do with the parking sensors as I have deactivated those but when you sit on the righthand side of the tailgate it stops ! I have asked a bmw specialist who looks after my car but he has no idea and has never heard of this problem before I can't even find out if there are sensors in the tailgate please.... please can someone help me before I end up in the nut house lol paul
