Thanks trevor silly question but is there a way of knowing what’s excessive? i took it back to the garage I have a warranty with and they said it looks normal and there will be an amount of normal vibration with any diesel.

Any advice at all?

Hi I recently purchased a second hand 520d manual. 2014. The gearstick has always vibrated a little when the engine runs and tends to then stop once in gear. Ive also noticed when going over a bumpy road, there’s a little wobble of the gearstick. my first bmw and first diesel so I’m unsure what’s normal. Any assistance appreciated.
