  1. I have a 2011 E70 3.0d. It has the 8 speed box which is meant to be more economical. I think the quoted combined mpg is about 38. I am getting a tiny bit under 34 on average. How expensive Diesel is here it would make a difference to me. I'm not towing anything so the 3.0lt certainly doesn't feel under powered but I have no comparison. If I go for another X5 for my next car I will certainly look into one with a bigger engine. I believe petrol / gas is far cheaper in America so it probably doesn't make a huge difference over there.
  2. I'm surprised at your comment saying that there would be very little difference in running costs. I would have thought you would be talking an extra £75 ish pcm at around 1000 miles per month. Add to that higher insurance and Tax, I would have thought it there would be a significant difference.
  3. Hi, I recently bought an X5 which I don't believe has the comfort access feature. I certainly don't seem able to open the car without using the unlock button on the remote. However, I discovered today that I don't always need to put the remote in the ignition lock to start the engine. After finishing a journey I turned the engine off and removed the remote. I then realised I had forgotten to drop something off so I restarted the engine but then realised I hadn't put the remote back in??? I'm just surprised it started without the remote being in the ignition lock. Is this normal?
