  1. Saw a M135 the other day and I'm with you on the WOW. Enjoy.
  2. Hello all. A wee update on my wife's 1 Series Convertible. My wife has had her car for two months now and she absolutely loves it. And so do I. What a fantastic car. We've had it (from Dundee) to Manchester, House Of Bruar, Fort William, Mallaig as well as my wife using it for work trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dunfermline. I often thought that there wasn't much difference between small(ish) cars but the 1 Series feels totally different to drive than my wife's MiTo and my Alfa Sportwagon. I can't quite place what that actually is as I'm no "petrol head" but it just feels different. It's very smooth and comfy at motorway speeds, the fuel consumption is exceptional and when the weather's right you can't beat a wee bit of wind in the hair driving on a Scottish country road. My wife goes on holiday with her friend next week for a week and I'm already planning on taking a few days off work and driving her car to Skye and the far north of Scotland. So all in all we're chuffed to bits with it.
  3. Thank you btmaldon. I've kept on top of mine with regular services. And I only do around 3/4000 miles per year so costs are minimal. Looking forward to BMW ownership though. Don't know if it will change my wife's attitude as she now has a Bee Em
  4. Hello all. I posted on Saturday that my wife and I were about to look at a 1 Series convertible and asked if I should look out for anything in particular before shaking hands on a deal. I think I shoulda introduced myself first, so here goes. I'll try and keep this as short as possible. I'm Jonny. 42. Alfa Romeo lover. My wife has fancied a white 1 Series convertible for a few years now and we both said that this was the year that she should get one. She saw one on Friday as she dropped her friend off at the BMW garage and had to book a test drive. We had the test drive on Saturday, my wife loved the car, we spoke about a trade in for my wife's Alfa Mito then went and discussed it over lunch. We did our sums, went back to the garage, haggled a wee bit then shook hands on a deal we were all happy with. It's a 118d Exclusive Edition, 1 owner with less than 29,000 miles on the clock. We have plates to change over and a couple of small stone chips on the bonnet that the garage will sort. So hopefully we will have the car within the week. As I said earlier, I'm an Alfa lover and have had Alfa's for over 25 years (My current car is a Sportwagon) My enthusiasm for Alfa's rubbed off on my wife when she get her Mito four years ago. It has been a great wee car but the 1 Series was too good to miss out on. This will be the first BMW either of us have had. Although it will be my wife's car I'll be the one that's on here looking for any info on the car or just to catch up. (So much for keeping it short😀)
  5. Hello everyone. My wife has fancied a 1 series convertible for some time now and we went to see one and took it for a test drive today. It's white, one owner, 28.000 miles on a '12 plate. We havent done the deal yet as I'd like to know what to look for or ask about as we are to go and see it again tomotrrow. And if all goes well maybe shake hands on it. If we don't buy that one we will definitely have one as soon as the right one comes along. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jonny
