Hi John
Sorry mate I am in deepest Sunny Sussex 😅
But let's try an see if I can help, before I got ISTA I used BMW 1.4.0 which is a great program for any BMW up to around 2006 Then I got INPA a much bigger program while it allowed better diagnostics it is a bit slower to use, so I brought ISTA about 5 years ago.
First ISTA is a massive program which takes ages to load properly the first time. When I first used it I was convinced it was not working. It took almost 10 mins + to suddenly start talking to the car ?? So a few questions
My version runs on a Windows 10 lap top dedicated to just ISTA/INPA and the guy I brought from gives online back up (I have spoken to him a few times for advice) So where did you buy and do they offer support (bit of a stupid question or you wouldn't be here)
I tried unsuccessfully to get mine running with an Ethernet cable just couldn't get the drivers to load correctly. Mine runs fine with a USB D-Kan cable So what Coms cable are you using
I would advise leaving your laptop running for at least 20 mins to ensure ISTA is fully loaded, make certain that the cars battery is fully charged with a booster pack or spare battery on standby. Then plug in and again wait if all is good the Program should recognise the car and start to populate the Information screen Let It Finish
If you are still having issues it is most likely Drivers that need removing and reloading
Hope this helps
Dave
