After reversing up my drive thats on a slope i noticed that there was red fluid leaking out from the front end of car and as im no mechanic i wanted to know what it could be. Any ideas?

Prob either red coolant from the rad etc or power steering fluid as these are both red. IIRC

Prob power steering or auto box fluid

Power Steering Fluid or Auto-tran Fluid :) Get ya face under the motor and have a good look

  • After having a good look under car and not seeing anything (but then im no mechanic), checking the levels on everything needing liquid are all fine and no warning lights flashing up and staying on on dashboard, I dont know what else it could be.

As said above prob power steering fluid or trans< i have a slight leak on my 7 which is from the power steering but check the levels it doesnt show it as only slight but over a month i will notice a slight drop but as above say could be the trans as well as both are red

BMW's are renowned for the pipes to slightly weep up to the Power-Steering Reservoir ! HTH ;)

There are only TWO fixes to this issue... New pipes (expensive) or whack some Jubilee clips over the connections !!

That is exactly what my 7 has but is so slight not really worried as hardly goes down on fluid
