When Giving The X5 A Bit Of Stick...

If I put the X5 in sports mode and give it a bit of stick I get a strange smell in the cabin, not burning smell and not as though something is melting. Hard to describe! Is this normal in X5's / Diesels?

when i do that in my 4.6 petrol with the wife in the car i get a funny smell like someone has s*** themselves

Could be the DPF getting a bit clogged up.

I beleive if your car is used for lots of short journeys the dpf might not be fuctioning correctly.

i get the same in my 4.4i not too dissimilar to an oil smell but defo not oil
