Good Morning everybody,

I have just taken the plunge and Sold my Honda CRV to fund a 2006 X5d Sport Auto, and I must say I am over the moon with my new friend, admittedly there are a couple of issues (Sticking door handle, lack of towbar), but these are soon to be rectified.

Reversing camera has just been fitted, towbar been booked in for towbar, Door Handle hoping to have it covered under warranty.

My Questions are-

Is the Diesel chip worth fitting? What am I likely to get? Will it help/hinder with towing?

Is a pipercross filter improve things? (Direct replacement not induction)

Thank you all for reading through my post.

Go for a remap such as bluefin by superchips rather than a chip. It actually changes the map completely rather than tricking the car with a little box. Plus you can always revert to standard if required!

Yes it will help for towing. Not sure if you have the 2.9 or the 3.0 diesel? Looking on superchips site the 2.9 for example will give an additional 32bhp and 130nm of torque:

That extra torque will really help towing.

Don't go expecting much from just a panel filter though. Will make a marginal difference but not a lot. Possibly worth it when combined with the remap though as you can pick them up fairly cheaply. Also check out K&N too.
