Noisy 116i Engine – Sounds Like A Diesel…..

Just bought an AUC 2012 F20 BMW 116i sport a few weeks ago so
its still under warranty – very excited it is my first BMW purchase!!! But have noticed that the engine is really
noisy when the engine is idle. I don’t really
notice the engine noise that much when I am driving along. As I am new to BMW cars - is this common for
the engine to sound like this? Or is
this an indication of a fault. Sounds
more like a diesel rather than a petrol engine.

I have put a link to a video so that you are able to hear
what it is like under the hood.

Appreciate any comments or help.

    I've got same car, my engine is incredibly noisy at idle as well, also when it's a cold day. Fine when driving along though.
