Hi,

I recently purchased a 2001 318ci, today I thought I'd remove the vintage Nokia car kit (Mcc-1) so I removed the stereo and the climate control and unscrewed the car kit bracket then decided to cut the wires from the car kit and put everything back together job done oh so I thought.

Having tried the stereo none of the front speakers work but the back speakers are fine, all the fade & balance on the stereo is correct. One of those jobs I wish I hadn't attempted.

Has anyone come across this ?

Kind regards

Paul

Hey paul,

The kit is linked to the speakers as that's how it was set up. Incoming calls used to transmit audio through the front speakers. I imagine what has happened is, when you cut the wires you will need to re-loop them back into the existing speaker circuit.

Reassess what you have cut and get back to us

Hi Daz,

Thanks for the reply, it seems when someone fitted the car kit they put an additional connection box for the front speakers behind the glovebox which I hadn't reconnected, but all good and working now :)

Cheers

Paul
