Hi all just seeing if anybody has any ideas on why the 320d i own has a flat spot in 1st and 2nd. As you drive from start you can floor it and it struggles to pull away if you just come off the throttle a touch and replant it it will then take off. Changed the air mass flow meter no difference and removed the swirl flaps

If anyone has any ideas that would be great cheers

Hi Simon...

Could be one or more of the following -

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) dirty or faulty - Doubt it though.

Camshaft Position Sensor (CPS) ^^ as above ^^.

Turbo Actuator needing adjustment.

Engine Breather issue - Remove and clean out gunk.

Intake issue - ^^ as above ^^.

Air Filter/Fuel Filter needs changing.

Air in fuel system causing pressure drop.

Failing seal in Diesel-Pump.

...

Are there any other running issues like cold starting or misfire?

Thanks Jim i will try those things

Sorry Jim pushed wrong button on phone the last message should have it dosnt have any other issues at the moment

Stick to the cheapest fixes first, like cleaning all the pipework before moving on to stuff that might cost dollars !

as Jim said above with the options ^

you could also try cleaning the throttle body/egr .

may be check if there is any fault codes stored -
