  1. Hi Daz, thankyou really appreciate the reply, i would normally only want to purchase genuine parts with the engine being so sensitive but as you explained i thought the metal impeller would be a better alternative to what is there now. Think i will attempt to go for this unless i get a reason not to, i will let you know the outcome as at the moment the noise from the pump from a cold start is unbearable!!! let alone having to top up the water every day.
  2. yes i saw that one too Bruce i was just worried about the price of it being so cheap! i don't want to drop on quality but a water pump supplied from BMW is £270+VAT the one i mentioned was £115 which has metal internals instead of BMW's plastic wanted to know if anyone had had any experience with them they seem to be of good quality... or do i just go with BMW's own?...
  3. Hi guys i have a whistling/squealing noise coming from my engine plus a bit of a water leak, i've been told it's the water pump so looking at replacing it. Does anyone have any idea what these pumps are like? somebody recommended me this as the internals are metal instead of plastic? just don't want it to be noisy at all and be reliable: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Pump-OEM-Quality-BMW-6-SERIES-645CI-04-11-/331054222209?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d145e8b81#vi-ilComp Cheers Rickie
  4. Dabsy, i've had a garage look at it and says its the timing covers, have you worked on these before? cheers
  5. Thanks for the advice Daz! was just wondering if there were any specialists/people who have done the job before who have time to look at it. I understand it is a pretty complex job
  6. Hi i own a 2004 645Ci Convertible that has an oil leak i've had it looked at and im told its coming from the timing chain covers. I have been told that it is a very expensive job by my local BMW specialists. I was wondering if there is anybody with the expertise on here that is not too far from Yorkshire who would be willing to fix it for me who has worked on them/done the job before? Thanks Rickie
