  1. Hi. a couple of times now my soft top won't go up when I press the button and so I have had to raise it manually. The display gives no reason or fault as to why it hasn't raised. (If the boot is open or the storage shelf is not in position, the display pings and tells you why the roof isn't operating). The roof then operates normally for a time but then fails to raise. Any ideas why it's happening or how I can sort it. It just makes me a little nervous about putting the roof down anticipating it wont go up again electrically. Thanks.
  2. Anyone help with this issue I've got. Usually when you open the doors, the window drops half an inch which helps the window to clear the cloth roof. It then goes back up half an inch when you close it. Both windows still operate except for this little feature. Thanks.
  3. If anyone else has this problem I've sorted it. The front plastic trim is held in place with 6 plastic grommets and star head screws. The screws were spinning in the grommets so were not tight enough to hold the trim in place. 6 new grommets and screws cost less than a fiver from BMW ( I know, I expected to pay 4 times that amount). The grommets simply push into place and the screws tighten into them.
  4. Hi. I recently bought a 2008 Series 1 convertible and there is a slight rattle coming from the front left side of the roof when the roof is closed. It stops if you put a bit of upward pressure on the front of the roof where it meets the windscreen. Is there anything I can adjust to stop it, without it being a major job. I imagine it may be a bit of play between the securing lever and whatever it fits against above the windscreen. Thanks.
