  1. Grey dog thanks I will strip it tomorrow and have a good look, the splines on the end of the shaft have worn and started to round, splines inside the tbox are very worn also, this part was engineered to fail, the shaft can be inserted at least another inch but bmw choose not too
  2. No drive what so ever just a really loud grinding rattling noise, removed shaft and you can see the wear
  3. Firstly hi to you all, and many thanks in advance, I am currently to owner of a lovely x5, absolutely fantastic I really do love it, my issue is the front prop shaft, it has had it's day and all the splines going into the transfer box are worn, I know in America there is an extended spline that can be added to the shaft, there fore my question is does anyone in the uk make, sell these. Many thanks again kevin
