With regards your day time lights. I have found that the sensors for the bulbs are way too sensitive. I don't have I Drive but I kept getting a bulb failure light on the dash but all were working. In the end I changed all 4 rear brake and rear light bulbs and this sorted it. I've not experienced the other issues unfortunately.

If the car was ok before it could well be the arm from the master cylinder or the release bearing has gone.

Presuming your bulbs are H7's I would try these instead. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00EPLCPRG?tag=thederangeddr-21&linkCode=sb1&camp=2378&creative=8434 If you convert to real Xenons you will need the headlight self levelling kit and headlight washers fitted to pass the MOT.

Sounds like top mount to me. Had this on several cars. Difficult to ID the problem with the car jacked up as it only makes the noise when the weight of the car is applied to it.
