  1. Just had a Google and the 140 code is caused by faulty thermostat or more specifically its electric control which fools the thermostat to lower engine temperature on high load. This doesn't cause any symptoms in regular driving and doesn't explain your rough running. If you want to get rid of that code you'll need a new thermostat. The 33 code is either one of the Camshaft Position Sensors or something to do with the Vanos (No idea what this is).
  2. Welcome along Mick
  3. ine was the same when I bought it but I managed to re-seat it by pulling and pushing it about so it would lock in properly. Sorry I cant describe what I did any better than that.
  4. Welcome along Gary. If you get time it would be good to see some pictures. I havent seen many E92's in that colour.
  5. Welcome along Brendon. Always nice to see another E92.
  6. Cant find one on eBay but plenty of other parts
  7. Welcome Jonathan. Looks like your going to be busy for a while and a good job petrol prices have gone down.
  8. Welcome to the club Robert
  9. You could fit this sort of thing but the brightness will still be dependant on the bulbs you fit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-E90-E91-05-08-Angel-eye-led-rings-headlight-halo-headlamp-pair-black-/271711359377?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Cars+Year:2011|Plat_Gen:E90&hash=item3f43425191 Alternatively a set of Osram Nightbreaker Ultimates or similar will give a far better beam and whiteness than standard. Welcome to the club by the way.

My E92 has 19 inch rims on but I believe these were a £500 optional extra when car was new. I doubt these are as wide as the M3 wheels. All I know is they are a right pain in the but to clean.
  11. Thats an O2 Sensor code. If you have just had these replaced it may well be that the ECU hadn't compensated yet for the new parts and it was running rich or lean. I would clear the codes and see if they come back. If so it could be a dodgy sensor.
  12. Welcome along Selina
  13. Welcome along Manu
  14. Welcome along Darren
  15. Could be the old fuel and/or an injector has partially blocked. They can varnish up when they have been left for a while. Clean fuel, a good fuel system cleaner and a drive would do it the world of good.
  16. I'm quite pleased with that. It was an interim service at my local Indy Garage who are not the cheapest but I trust them. No advisories and Bill the mechanic complimented me on how good the car is.
  17. The camber should only need adjusting if you are fitting a different width wheel and may have lowered the suspension. A wider wheel with no adjustment for camber and in some cases tow can cause it to wear on the inside. I took my Father in Laws car to a specialist near Wales to sort his out as he had bought a car that had been fitted with lowered springs and much wider wheels. I cant see any physical reason why the camber would be changed if you just had a different tyre type. As far as having a softer suspension, I cant feel it on the M Sport.
  18. Cant really say without getting under there and having a look. On many cars the pump has some sort of hole/overflow that allows the coolant to leak out when it is on its way out.
  19. Welcome Glenn. Is that really your miliege?
  20. Welcome to the club Allan and congratulations on your new purchase.
  21. Welcome to the club Sam. Ive got 19 inch rims on the M Sport suspension and although it is great on smooth roads, pot holes are jaw breaking. 18 inch rims are more forgiving from what I have read. I dont have personal experience of 18 inch rims on a BMW though as this is my first and it came with the 19 inch wheels. Your car looks great by the way. Always liked the shape of those.
