    Trickle Charge Battery

    Hi I have just bought an 2006 (E46) BMW 320d SE convertible which I am lucky enough not to have to use in winter so it will be put in the garage until the sun shines next year. When I put it in the garage I will put the battery on to an intelligent charger that only kicks in when the battery loses charge and tops it up. As the battery is in the boot can I attach the charger to the terminals under the bonnet to keep the battery charged up or will it have to be fitted directly to the battery in the boot?
