I've had an e46 m3 it was very good and have a 911 carrera at the moment, I just need something small, fast, 4 seats, reliable and cheap whilst I sell the Porsche and the wife's 4 x 4 to get a 997. Id still like some works cooper advice.... Dave

Hello all, I'm a bit of a car addict and have had a few heavy performance cars in the last few years, I came on here last week asking about 4.8 x5s! but after a week of deliberation I've ended up looking at JCW minis! I do fancy some balls out fun and it would be handy to have back seats for the nippers. I'm old (40) so insurance isn't an issue, I'd like to spend £5-7k . I've heard a few horror stories about reliability? Can I have some pointers please....

I'm currently thinking of selling my 911 996 hobby car and replacing it with a a big v8 that will be good for odd weekends away with the kids etc and keep me happy as a petrol head. The wife has a nice 4x4 but we don't need 2 so she can get something more frugal for day to day and I can still get a petrol fix when I'm not at work. Running costs aren't really a big issue but should I look out for anything? There's a few nice 54 plates around for £10kish how much should I spend?... Edited to say HI, very rude of me! I've had plenty beemers before, M3 last and lovely old 540Msport before that...
