  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. Gav, the mileage is barely 18,000 so pretty low really. As I said the noise doesnt sound substantial and is more of a nuisance than anything else. Have booked it in to a local dealer for a week on Saturday so hopefully will have an update then. Meanwhile if there are any more theories then please feel free to post. Cheers.
  2. Thank you for your help DazH, In addition I have picked up from elsewhere that a tailgate mis-alignment may be the cause of a back end noise. Are you aware of this issue? Cheers.
  3. Hi All, I recently bought a 2008 (58 plate) X5 3.0D and have noticed an annoying "clunk" at the back end when I go over even the smallest bump. The son has had a listen whilst travelling and thinks it seems to be coming from the tailgate area! Any ideas?
