Yeah it was high for the first fail, then I moved that black cog thing ready for the retest, and the emissions went right down to the other end and were just inside the parameters for an emissions pass so the bloke said. but I moved it back up again, or in one direction, I forgot what way I moved it originally, so I just moved it counter clockwise a few clicks. I'm gonna assume the head gasket is fine, I've checked for the milky gunky stuff, I'm not losing coolant, and I'm not losing oil, and it doesn't overheat. Or at least I don't think it overheats, it was idling for about 45 minutes the other day when matey was doing the mot, and it was halfway hot when I got there, so I'm guessing it isn't overheating.
That pic isn't actually my car but funnily enough that's roughly where that arm thing is on mine too.... And I think I did turn that screw clockwise yeah, I remember watching the copper thing spinning lol.
Any idea of a fix for this? Or do I just waste more money taking it to a garage to have them fix it? Or buy one off ebay? Or leave it? Haha :D
On a plus note, after fixing all that stuff that was on the fail sheet (props again to Gav for showing me what to do) and spending some more moolah on getting it welded, it finally passed the MoT ;)
I just looked at the emissions report for the pass, when I moved it the first time, max is 3.5% co and I was at 0.44% No idea what it is at now though.
Thanks.

So basically, I messed with my AFM ( I think that's what it's called, pics below) for the emissions test for the MoT, it passed, but the guy said if I keep running it like that I could damage my engine. So I went to change it back, but like a !Removed! idiot I forgot which way I turned it originally and how many clicks I turned it, so I just turned it 3 clicks counter clockwise and left it at that. Also, I messed with a screw too but it didn't seem to do anything.
Now, when the engine warms up, I get white smoke from the exhaust, getting worse as the engine gets warmer, is that because I messed with what I shouldn't have?
Thanks Chaps.

You dont hold spanners with your feet
While that is true my friend, I can't put pressure on the pedals to move the car off of my driveway. :) And nobody else around me is capable/trustworthy enough to do it for me. But it's getting better now, so I shall have at it maybe tomorrow or tuesday if the weather is ok.

Ok so, I need to change my subframe bushes, the centre aluminium part is
detatched completely from the outer metal sleeve. I got the centre bit out. But I cannot for the life of me get the metal sleeve out. I tried cutting it out with a hacksaw but it's just too small for the saw to get inside it, I tried wedging a screwdriver in to try and pry it down but it just snaps the end of the screwdriver off. Has anyone got any suggestions at all for how I can get that metal sleeve out of the subframe please? Thanks. Jay -

Has anyone ever (or even thought about) converting an E30 Touring into a Pick Up truck or a small Van like an EscortorAstratype thing? I been readingabout the Pick Up Truck idea and it seems like a lot of people do it. I just wondered if anyone had done it or thought about it or any view/opinions or anything like that? I'm bored of the Tardis now and I want to turn it into something spectacular but I'm not convinced it will be worth it. Though I do like the idea quite a lot, of doing track days in a Pick Up or a small Van. Any thoughts?

Some hours you say, you mean like, an overnight job? And there are lots of sockets under the bonnet! Haha. Ok, I'll drop the exhaust (needs changing anyway apparently) and have a butchers at the join, see if I can spot any circlips. If not I'll have at it with the spanners like a lunatic!
On the plus side, I've just had a phone call, my Centre Bearing is at the shop! Excite! Hopefully it will be the right one, collecting tomorrow!

Lol, I just got a quote from you as my insurance is up for renewal. I was... Surprised at the quote to say the least ^.^ £2643.40 I was told that I couldn't get it on classic like I am currently as it's my only car. Which ofc is fair enough, that's your policy. But I don't think I'll be insuring with you guys :)

Thanks mate. Yeah I checked it out, was gonna have a go at taking it off for the shop cus he didn't know what I was talkign about, but I couldn't see how they split? Seems like the middle is 2 solid knuckles welded together.. Maybe I'm just blind but I didn't want to have to take the whole thing off to do it yet so I left it. I have got a problem still though with what I have done, My o/sf is pointing in an entirely different direction to my n/s/f lol, and the brake pad warning light is still on even with brand new sensors fitted? Could it be because neither sensor is actually in the brake pad? Or do I have to reset the light?
