Wobbly steering wheel?
You could jack up each corner on the front independently and check the tyre profile by turning the wheel slowly and looking at the tread area...been caught out like this before and it turned out to be a small bulge in the tread area which was leading to the shaking. Also, would be worth checking the wheel nuts/bolts to be sure they are tight

Cooling
Hi John...welcome to the Forum As Dave has already mentioned, the temperature you are reading is perfectly normal but if it does suddenly rise then you could have air in the system. Some BMW engines had a small bleed screw on the thermostat housing area which you could extract any trapped air from. Also, sometimes the impeller on the water pump parts company and this can also lead to a temperature increase. Cheers, Trevor

OBD Reading interpretation
Hi Ruben....welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure how these faults are related to one particular problem area....am thinking you may have separate issues there which will need looking at one at a time. I would probably start with the Oil Level Sensor and then maybe the AMM next? Let us know what you find Cheers, Trevor

Z3 Swap or Restore
Greydog Sorry Dave....have been on holiday (last minute sun before the winter) for the last week 🙂 riggers I have responded in the Z3 forum section, and I have hopefully tried to convince you to keep it....same reasons as Dave has mentioned above. It has to be a future classic as they are an iconic style, albeit the Z4 is a gorgeous car, I still don't think it has the style of the Z3. Parts....sorry, not sure who supplies new panels, only ever bought secondhand panels (in the right colour)...mechanical parts, try Euro Car Parts or GSF as they both do quite a range of Z3 components. Cheers, Trevor

Z3 Swap or Restore
Hi Mark....welcome to the Forum Bizarrely enough, I also have the same car (2000, 2.0ltr with 100k miles) in Silver. It is off the road at the moment as was written off as a CAT C but have since replaced the damaged parts and you would not know the difference. However, I also have the same dilemma as you....do I spend money on a new roof and some paintwork or do I jump to a Z4? Have thought long and hard and have decided to keep the Z3 as it owes me nothing now and it is an iconic modern classic. In summary, mine will never be worth a huge amount in the future because of the mileage and also being CAT C....but as I already own it and I really enjoy it then I will stick with it and spend some money on sorting out the issues. Hope this will convince you to keep it and also maybe worth test driving a Z4 for a period to see if you really think it is any better than the Z3 and make a decision then. Let us know how it goes Cheers, Trevor
