Gareth and Deb

Hi Folks Just did the deal on a 2001 X5 3.0D today at a price we're very pleased with. It's had all the major jobs done, gearbox, turbo, etc. Just a major service and a few minor bits to sort out and we should be picking it up next Friday. So, no doubt I shall be on here frequently with lots of daft questions! My first one is this though. It doesn't have the satnav DVD in the drive so I need to source one. I've seen plenty on Fleabay but starting to gather that there are different versions for the earlier and later models. So, to make sure I get the right one, can anyone tell me if there's a particular part number or variant I need to keep an eye out for please? I gather they are rather expensive from BMW so one thats a couple of years out of date isn't too much of a concern for me, so long as I have one so the satnav works! Second question is probably a common one. The TV works great but is obviously the original analogue receiver and thats getting turned off in our area in March. I have looked again on Fleabay for a DVB tuner but all I have found is the major upgrade units which completely replaces the whole head unit. They do look rather spangly with funky touchscreen and amazing graphics but at 400 quid plus it's a rather chunky mod. So is it the only way to get DVB TV in the car or are there aftermarket tuners I can buy? I hope I haven't asked questions too common and bored the hell out of everyone!
