  1. Ive tried but doesn't seem to be working, followed tutorials etc , key in , turn to first spot , take out unlock button held and press lock 3 times or so , to the fair the other key fob didn't work locking either so maybe the antenna? There just a load of wee things that need sorted so going to be slowly working though them.
  2. *New key solved problem* So finally got round to picking up the key , just work etc getting in the way , also managed to run codes , and bar a heap of codes relating to low/high voltage from the battery, a number plate light out , and a gearbox manual switch, nothing too serious. Did notice when I ran diag that the old key wasnt picked up. Long story short battery changed and coded , and a new key. Just got to sort out why the remote locking isn't working as well as the CCC being dead as well as a couple of other things. And the absolutely awful carbon wrap everywhere needs to be sorted ... But thats a personal thing. Thanks for all the suggestions and support really appreciate it.
  3. So got back to the car after having to go back to work and leaving it sitting for a week In - degrees , due to weather and location, got back to it yesterday and noticed the battery was shot , 2.Something Volts. Going to need to sort that , I am wondering however, what battery does it take because any information points to an AGM battery being OEM however the one I've pulled out is a standard lead one. Any information on the correct battery would be helpful.
  4. Cheers Dave , I'll give those all a look when am back at it, would I be right in saying those are the fuses in the glove box, hopefully going to try and get diag ran on it as soon as I can, hopefully this weekend, will post if I get a fix for it. Rob
  5. Thanks for the reply, yeah battery was tested in boot and from the jump points under the bonnet , both round the 12.4-12.7 mark , when it was running it was reading about 14.8, key fob does nothing which is why I was thinking it might be the fob , was just curious as if a dead key would stop the dash coming on when the key was turned or if it would be the ignition switch itself, the hall effect one that is attached to the barrel Hopefully will be picking up a new key this weekend so I can at least rule that out , and it needs a new one anyway
  6. Hi , just joined originally from NI but now live in Scotland, definitely not new to BMW, own a couple, recent got an older 6 series , and could definitely use some help with it.
  7. Hello , just picked up a 2005 plate 630i , car managed the drive home about 40 miles just fine, started and ran all was well, started the car this morning, the key light came on flashing while the car was running After I turned off the ignition, and went to restart the car I got nothing, no illumination of the dash , no error for the key , nothing , dash does light up when you push the trip button etc , battery has charge , everything was working fine until I turned it off. Any ideas or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, I do have a new key on order from BMW , just because it only came with one key which looks like it had definitely been messed with before.
