Dave, the piece i I'm referring to is about 4" tall and runs the width of the bumper. It seems to be a systemic problem. The clips do not hold it in place. Has this problem been reported previously? As I said BMW has tried to fix it twice and even put in a new black insert.

The black plastic insert in my rear bumper gets dislodged with the slightest pressure. I hit it ever so slightly with my knee when assessing the cargo area. I've had it back to BMW twice to fix but it keeps happening. Have others had this problem? Can it be fixed. Thanks.
