  1. Hi All I spoke to the local authorized BMW Colchester dealer, and advised car reg number + full details of the issue. I was amazed at the lack of assistance/knowledge 😎 I explained that I was attempting to trace the actual part/s that the push fit rivets (No 11 & 13) attached too. I explained that my car has 'fresh air' behind the No 2 wheel arch, only open mounting holes. All I got was "you have to know what you are after" (and was presented with the same drawing as above).............my reply "that's the problem, whatever was supposed to be there is missing......how am I supposed to know what was there in the first place.......if at all" Does anyone have a BMW Series 1 E88 Convertible 2011, who can assist in resolving the mystery............a photo would be a life saver 😁
  2. Hi I have found that the trim is loose, and has no fixings in the points 11 & 13 detailed below..........just blank holes fixed to fresh air behind 😞 I am struggling to locate a diagram that details how/where points 11 & 13 fix too........if at all?? The other side is absolutely solid 😞 Please can someone advise. Many thanks
  3. One last question on this topic ðŸĪŠ..........does the new fitting need a gasket seal? I cannot see any of the Amazon/Ebay sites offering one as part of the light fitting. I know I will find out when I remove the old one, but did not want to remove the old one and then delay the replacement. Cheers
  4. I've now found the reason for the black mesh........to cover a crack in the lens........light is full of crud New replacement on order 😄

  6. Hi Dave Many thanks for the quick response 🙂 Yes, I traced all the Pt No's listed as 65327164978......but all appear to be solid red without the mesh covering. The black mesh covering appears to be easily removed....... I may do this to tidy things up; but I would then have the standard fitting Pt No 65327164978. I was attempting to retain/replace, as the 'black' lens as a contrast to red paint work, which in my opinion looks more appealing than red on red 😝 I see there is a version of solid black lens which hopefully glows a clear red.......I may give it a go. Once again, many thanks for your reply. Paul
  7. Hi All I have just obtained a BMW 1 Series Convertible 2011.......and still can't stop smiling 😀 The third rear brake light has a perforated black mesh covering the red lens.................this is starting to deteriorate and peel off 😎 Can anyone advise if this an after market attachment, or can I buy an OEM replacement light with this feature already fitted? I have done the usual online trawls, but with no joy. I'd appreciate any advise. https://photos.fife.usercontent.google.com/pw/AP1GczOCDHoCUvMQqVBrQXb5yORs2s4p1SpmLAvCCC3TY_FwaxaT1mP_eHh3=w1632-h919-s-no?authuser=0
