    x5 e53 electrical problem

    hi i have an X5 which has seemingly transmission issues i have changed the filter solenoids and top with the fuel but the vehicle refuses to move had a diagnostic check and the guy informs me that the transmission is dead and need replacing, shouldn't i get some king of code informing me of the particular issue with the transmission and even if its dead as he says ,again should i be able to know why or what part is bad?
