I recently purchased a 2007 530i Touring with a panoramic sunroof. However, the sunroof only tilts. I assumed this was a fault so took it to my local specialist but they say that it's a non-slide sunroof, it just tilts. Did BMW make a panoramic sunroof that doesn't slide for this model? The specialist did no exploratory work, and I can't help but think they're wrong. It's very odd, as the sunshade also doesn't go all the way back, it stops about half way, meaning the rear half of the sunroof would never be seen. I just can't imagine why BMW would design a sunroof like this - surely it's faulty. Any assistance very welcome indeed!

Hi guys, newbie to the forum, but just purchased a lovely 2007 530i and had a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help with: 1. with new struts, will the boot fully open when unlocking with the key? I have small kids and that would be a huge benefit, but don't want to invest if not possible. 2. the large panoramic sunroof tilts but doesn't go back, is it worth trying to fix yourself, or better to let a specialist look at it? Assume it's the motor, but not sure how big a job that is. 3. I have a service light for the rear right reverse light, I changed the bulb, light remained on, then I realised if I open the boot with the engine running 3 further issues present themselves (left number plate light, right number plate light, right rear fog light) - assume this is due to dodgy wiring, but can't find where the wiring runs - any help greatly appreciated. Really appreciate any help with these, cheers.
