    Engine light on

    Just collected my M3 Conv (2004). Driving home noticed that when trying to acelerate in low revs whole car shook and didn't accelerate. also noticed later engine light on dashboard light on. Whole car sounded like a tractor and no power. EML light also came on. Switched off car and restarted and light went off when car started. however, still hesitating and shaking occasionally when trying to accelerate at low revs. Any ideas. (not bought from BMW dealer). I am taking car in on tue but thought may get some answers here.
