Hi all, Don't use 5W-30- this is bmw own brand oil spec. Castrol - bmw approved spec.is 5W-40 for 335d 3L engine. Pour 6L in the first instance, start the car, rave the engine to 2000rpm. Turn off the car, add 300ml. and go for 15 min.drive. Once you've done this, go to iDrive settings-oil, run check the engine oil level. Takes few sec.for the computer to complete the check. Once it's done you will see the oil level on the display. You could pour more if needs be. Go by 100ml. until you reach the proper level. ( You must take into account that when changing the oil there will be always some old left in the engine, so make sure you don't overflow.)
