Hi Dave, thanks for the link. i went to see a bmw specialist in my local area and he's reassured me that the index number will not have a negative effect on the fuel injection as the number simply indicates what generation of injector it is. I bought one off him for 50 quid and will swap them over in the coming days and will let you know if it has resolved the issue.

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. unfortunately im on a really tight budget at the moment and will be replacing just the one injector for now. i also had a look on realoem.com for the part number which is 13537589048 however, i had a look on the injector yesterday and the last two digits after 048 is 06. 06 is the index number and all the injectors have these numbers ranging from 1-12. I did some more reading last night and it seems that the index number 11 and above are for newer models where they've resolved the dodgy injector issue and 11 and below are the faulty injectors but i cant find anything relating to if i can use any index number injector below 11 or if all of my injectors have to be 06. at the moment theyre all ofcourse 06 however, after having looked online for refurbed ones i cant find any 06 ones.

Hi guys, i recently bought an 09 318i which unfortunately has a misfire in cylinder 1. I've swapped out the coil packs, changed the spark plugs and done a compression test and everything is fine. The final solution which i've come across is getting my injector replaced. I just checked the part number which is 13537589048 06. Index number 06. I've had a quick look on ebay at some used working injectors however, i can't seem to find any index 06 injectors. So my questions is, can i use any index injector below 11? or do they all have to be the same index number? also, can someone explain the reason for different index numbers? thanks for the replies in advance!
