cant make up my mind if they are good to have or if they could end up backfiring and prosecuting yourself??? example... if your involved in an accident and your dashcam says you was over the speed limit at the time. thoughts and experiences??

never had stop/start..can someone give me the low down on if they are good or not? can you turn it off? is it annoying? collecting my 118i m sport next monday and cant wait!
