Does the airbag warning light cause a failure of an MOT? As last year it was but at last minute the law changed by a few months so my light was on but it still passed the MOT I was just wondering what the state of play is as of right now as my MOT Is due now!

Look what I found under my car!! But the spring is still there just won't pass it's MOT so I guess I'm off to Milton Keynes this weekend

Sounds like a plan mate as long as work don't screw me over (military!) for that meet, as of yet I'm not sure what type I need ! I guess it's the M Sport ones as that's my car so all being well yeah ill take those if that's ok and ill see you there, but like I said work can be last min.com at times. Hi all as the title says whenever I go over a bump it sounds like two metal plates rattling and I noticed today that the drivers side rear is a lot lower than the passenger side..... Any ideas what it could be and how much it's gonna cost? Bought one of those bypass things off eBay.....didn't work! However I took the car to the garage and he said that the laws had changed about the airbag warning light being on and it won't fail an mot for it.....and it didn't so I passed MOT and am a happy chappy

hi steveg3por they didnt say anything specific they just said the unit is faulty and that id be paying £377 for the privilage, the light has come on inside the car but other than that the car is fine, gonna be !Removed! if they are just bumping the price up for no reason!

Ok so my car was serviced at BMW and they gave me a list of jobs that needed doing in order to pass the mot, had to get rear tyres changed, brake fluid replaced,rear bushes and airbag control unit, now I'm looking at a bill of around £350 for the airbag unit to be sorted through BMW , is this something I have to get done through them or are they just playing d1ck Turpin and robbing me? As they wanted just shy of £500 for two rear tyres so I went elsewhere!

Cheers i finaly got my new key this morning and was told a million different things by BMW, one said i could open and start the car with the key, the other said i could only open and would have to get the car towed to BMW so they could programme the key to the car, when i tried, the key opened the door but wouldnt start the car so i was told to tow the car to BMW so i called the AA who came out and towed me about 200 metres down my road then pulled over to put the towing plates on and told me just to try starting the car again and it !Removed! started this time! we both looked gobsmacked so the AA guy left and i drove to BMW who then pressed the buttons on the key in some combination and all my central locking worked too.. so im happy again now :D

hey all i know this thread has been talked about before but i cant for the life of me find the search function on here now but i need some advice if poss, ive had my one and only key stolen so i need to get a replacement one before i can do anything with my car!! ive rang the AA but they said theyre lock assistance cant do anything because the likes of BMW and Mercedes dont release the software, now ive tried to ring BMW but they are still closed but ive been told that they should be able to get me a replacement after about 5 days from germany, now have i just been fobbed off? or does anyone have any experience of this? and what was the outcome timewise and cost, thanks DeanT

cheers no it doesnt rattle when cold thats the only noise thats made ill try what you said about locating and get back to you on it, thanks. hope its nothing serious as i love the car !!

Hi all, i have noticed recently that when i start the car up, especially in the cold, it makes a (and this is the only way i can describe it so bear with me!) quick scratching noise! it lasts about half a second to a second. if i turn the car off after the journey then start again 9 times out of ten it wont do it but if i leave the car for a while to get cold and i start it it does it again any ideas???

i have a 330ci 52 plate and mines got the reversing mirror tilt...just thought id add my tuppence worth there

wow i dont even remember writing my reply last night/this morning! i must of been drunk!!!

think im f**ked i get on average 30.1 mpg and thats driving at 70 on the motorway!!! if i have a spirited drive then its down to about 6mpg...but lets be honest its all good fun!!! ha ha
