  1. the e60 m5 as with many cars now is on conditional service, so the car tells you what and when it wants it, and all can be found in the i-drive and you really need to know that info before purchase as my car has full service history so if i sold it now i could advertise as so however my i drive tells me i need a litre of oil £22 rear brake pads in 400m and front pads in 800 miles but im also aware that the discs are shot so lets say £1500-1800 and major inspection and brake fluids are scheduald for january so lets say £1500-2000 , so you really need to know ,atleast you can use info as a lever to haggle on peice if the car is the right one for you
  2. its because the smg transmission will only allow those 2 gears to be selected at low speed or stand still, also when your say doing 20 mph it wont let you select 6 and 7 gears its just to improve driveability by stoping you selecting to high gear, hope that makes sense
