    Bmw 320 Pops Out Of 1st Gear

    Hi all Please can you help...my bmw has been popping out of 1st gear for a couple of weeks now, sometimes I feel its because its not engaged properly and have been selecting 2nd then 1st. But over the weekend, it stayed in 1st for about 5 seconds before popping out thus I have to select 2nd quickly. I have been advised it could be link problem, sync problem, clutch problem, gear box. The gearbox scares me due to £££££. Spoke to garage this morning who are getting back to me with a £ to take the gear box out to have a look at it? Does this need to be done even if its a small problem?
