Any one else had this problem, my 2001 E46 drivers door handle no longer opens the door. It feels like it is no longer attached to the door opening mechanisn. Car still locks and unlocks with the fob but handle doesn't work. Reading the Haynes manual it looks like its a pain to replaice. Anyone had to do this ?,

I think you may have been right. I had all the tracking etc done a couple of days ago and it now drives perfectly. Thanks for reply.

Hi all, Just bought my first BMW, a 2001 318i SE and I must admit I already love it. One thing I am a bit concerned about is that at high speed, say over 70mph, the steering is a bit vague and twitchy. The car seems to almost want to drive itself and it doesn't take much movement of the steering wheel for it to react. I have replaced both front tyres as although legal, they were a bit worn. It passed it's MOT only 2 weeks ago so I don't think there is a problem with any of the suspension/ steering bits. Has anyone any ideas ?. Thanks.

Hi, I have just bought my very first BMW, a 2001 318i SE and I must say I am delighted with it. On Saturday I fitted my Grandaughters child seat on the nearside rear seat as per instructions. However I have now noticed that the Airbag warning light is now on. Reading the handbook it refers to a seat belt tensioner problem. Have I accidently triggered something ? Certainly there has been no load placed on the seat belts and the light was not on prior to fitting. Also there is no spare wheel with the car. Is this a thin emergency type wheel/tyre and if so can anyone advise me as to the best place to buy one. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
