Firstly here is what happened.

Got in the car to go away for the weekend, turned the key and the whole ignition key and barrel seems to have turned too far, so the steering lock is off but the key wont turn any further to activate the ignitio, so that was that.

Had a quick look myself, but not really got much of an idea what I am doing so got a locksmith to have a look who couldnt do much either, so called the RAc.

The RAC guy sorted it so at least now I can start the car and drive it but I am going to have to replace the switch , Is this much of a job? and how do I stand if I manage to get it apart and get a new barrel and key etc with the immobiliser?

Guest Mister Dabsy

Small locating pin has sheared... Easy fix, draw out the pin with a magnet (line the barrel up first) then insert a self-tapping screw... Or replace !! ;)
