2021 840 I dash lights dim without warning

Recurrent spontaneous dimming of dash illumination daytime without warning 

BMW did not find a software issue 

any suggestions?

Welcome to the Forum

As your car is at best just over a year old I would be much harder with the Dealer as it is their responsibility to supply a vehicle that is "suitable for purpose" and a very expensive car should have "everything" working correctly, no faults.

I would ask what they had done to check the fault, a software test is not good enough what physical tests did they do and what plan is in place to rectify the problem,

Stupid question, but are your lights set on auto? 
the dash lights will dim when the exterior lights come on. 
is it doing it when the car is stationary?

Good point Stu so not a stupid question at all, the obvious is often forgotten. Makes you worry if the dealer didn't see it though??
