Morning Paul

Welcome to the Forum

Not sure what engine size you have but I would think a replacement around the 70 to 90ah range would be OK

Check www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box, you will see your model called up then look in the relevant section for the information you need. The web site is a BMW online parts list same information that Dealers use.

As your car is shall we say "of an age" (bit like me) the battery wont require registering to the chassis so battery type shouldn't be an issue either. A healthy battery should show 12.8v measured at the charging points under the bonnet engine off, 14.5+v engine running

Good Luck

Dave
