Morning William Welcome to the Forum That number sounds like a BMW Dealer quote ? Who diagnosed the fault ? What engine ? Remember BMW don't make Turbo Chargers they buy them in. If you haven't already talk to a Turbo specialist, well more than one so you get a good comparison on cost/warranty etc. Engine damage will occur if the turbine on the inlet disintegrates sending debris into the engine iif your lucky it will be the exhaust turbine thats gone Dave -

Morning John Welcome to the Forum I believe you should be able to change that in the iDrive menu. Unless you have an import from Japan then it could get more complicated Dave
