I Drive Shortcuts....

I picked this up from a friend recently. Certain settings in IDrive, which you use a lot, (for me) like home on SatNav, Tyre Pressure monitoring and existing destinations in SatNav + Sports settings can all be saved as shortcuts. Just hold the appropiate button down until you get the OK.

Thanks Richard but perhaps a more detailed explanation would help please.

You say "Hold the appropriate button" but which one does what?

A set-up step by step would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Hi John.... I think he means like if you softly run your fingers over each button it’ll show what shortcut has been assigned to each button.. just softly without pushing button in.... let’s say you want radio 1 set for button 1.... tune your radio into radio 1 and then keep button 1 pushed until you see a message on Idrive screen saying “saved shortcut” ... then maybe you want the navigation option on button 5.. again open up navigation and then push and hold button 5 until you again see the message appear on screen... they will then be saved... try it and go into another radio station then push button 1 and it should change to radio 1 or whatever you set... hope that helps mate

No, sorry guys. Select what you are going to do in IDrive - just hover above the selection, don't click on it. Now go to one of the buttons I have highlighted. Hold the number you wish to assign as a shortcut. You will get an OK (or something like that).

So say you assign number 1 as your home setting on satnav, simply press button 1 as shortcut. I'm not sure how this works in earlier versions. My model is 2016. I'v set all the numbers up to different things. It is helpful.

Hope this helps. If not, I will try and take some pics.
