Hi, new to this forum and Bmw ownership. Bought a 2009 E93 hard top convertible, 64k miles lovely car. But a wuring humming noise at most speeds but is speed related from lh rear. Swapped tyres left to right but noise still stays on lh side. I suspect its a wheel bearing, but cannot detect any play. What do you think? hope its not the diff.

Morning Geoff

Welcome to the Forum

Are your rear tyres Run Flats? They are well known for being noisy as they wear. On the subject of tyres also check they are not directional and wrongly fitted (my son had just that issue)

Have you checked the diff for oil? Though a diff will make a lot of noise that will rise in pitch with speed.

If none of the above then the wheel bearings are all that is left

Good Luck

Dave
