M135 exterior door handle lights
Hi Paul There is me thinking that the M135 is pretty much top of the range with the 1 series why wasn't it fitted ?? Especially as the car has the rest of the so called "welcome lighting" package just doesn't make any sense to me Is there a small clear lens under the door handle ? Dave

Oil Leak on front boxes E64
Hi all, discovered I have two oil leaks coming from the front two boxes on the E64. Right a the front of the engine block. Does anyone know if these can be corrected/repaired without taking the heads off or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

M135 exterior door handle lights
Had a reply from BMW after being told they should work. Than I got this Dear Paul Thanks for getting back in touch with BMW ConnectedDrive. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. The BMW Digital Premium includes personal welcome from the Welcome Light Animation. It offers lighting effects for the front and rear lights. These animations greet you when you approach or unlock your vehicle. The exterior door handle lighting are not part of the standard equipment on your M135 (F70) build, which is why it's not functional. If you would like further confirmation or to discuss retrofit options, we recommend contacting your local BMW Centre. You can find the nearest BMW Centrehere. If you require any further assistance, please get back in touch. Parking light malfunction
Morning Will Welcome to the Forum As you have replaced the bulb without success have you checked the fuses ? You should find a Fuse diagram tucked away somewhere but try checking fuse numbers 10, 15, 20. If the fuses are good then you need the help of either an Auto Electrician or someone with a BMW capable diagnostic scanner Dave

Run flat tyre vulnerability
Morning Bob Welcome to the Forum It is safe to fit Non Runflat tyres to Runflat Rims, the benefits are a wider choice of tyres and costs been doing it for years with my X5's However, if it's only cost then you may well end up with compromised handling/road holding cheap tyres are cheap for a reason. Potholes are a real problem in the summer months easier to see but in the darker months when they are full of water a real issue and danger. Fitting tyres with a deeper sidewall may be possible but may also give clearance issues so check carefully. An alternative is to fit a smaller rim with a deeper sidewall tyre Good Luck Dave

Parking light malfunction
So Im new to BMWs. I have 16 x3 xdrivei28. The other day it through a parking lamp malfunction. I changed the bulb with the exact same bulbs. Still have to code. Bulbs were working. Then I swapped em with LED ones that were made for it. Still same thing. How do I reset the thing or is there something else with it??? I'm so very confused.

Car seat covers??
Thanks for your reply Dave, interesting that your friend went for covers from the car manufacturer, though they will have been pricey, I'll look into that. And I need to buy car mats so purchasing rubber one's is a good call, the interior is a beige/sand colour fabric with matching carpet so not the easiest to keep clean and she's been kept well by the guy I'm buying from (collecting today)

Car seat covers??
Morning Mike Welcome to the Forum Never used them personally but I do have a friend who uses them in his Range Rover Sport as the seats are almost white leather, his are from Range Rover fit really well but still look like seat covers they do keep the seats clean though. I suppose it depends whether you want them to be almost permanent and look OEM ? My interior is Black leather dark grey mats with rubber over mats as a hobby is shooting dogs (in the boot) and muddy boots are in and out of the car a lot. The inside still cleans up really well (Leather Guys products) So I guess not much help I am afraid good luck with the hunt Dave

Loosing coolant on my BMW f20 20/15 118 i
Morning Raymond Welcome to the Forum If your topping up that much first I hope it's not with tap water as quickly you will have no anti Freeze or corrosion protection. If your losing it and can't see anything obvious above, have you taken off the engine covers and checked? Take a look under the car to look for signs (puddles on the floor) Is the car smoking (white Vapour). There will either be a leak at a hose joint, header tank if it is an internal engine issue (white Vapour) obviously not good news. Last feel the carpets inside in case it is an internal heater matrix issue Good Luck Dave

Car seat covers??
Hi, does anyone have experience with car seat protectors for their 3 series? There are soooo many options/businesses online and many have bad reviews, any thoughts are welcome 👍

Mistery problem
Morning Chris Could be a number of issues, I would start with the Battery, is it fully charged and holding it ? A diagnostic will show up stored Fault Codes but if the underlying cause is low Battery Voltage many could be caused by low voltage. Test voltage at the charging point under the bonnet anything below 12.5v is low below 12v I would suspect the battery. Engine running you should see 14 + v that should confirm the Alternator and charging circuit. Dave
