  2. Hi Paul Last set for the X5 were from Euro Car Parts by QH Disc's and Pads around £100 if my wallet remembers correctly Dave
  3. Morning Darren I brought mine a few years ago (2009 if I recall) through Ebay. Make the checks mine was from a UK seller with good feed back who also offered back up. Before that I used BMW 1.4.0 (still have it on the same laptop) Where ever you buy just make the normal sensible checks to make sure you will have support if needed Dave

  5. Just realized that I made a mistake. The last sentence should have been: " You would plug the trailer’s 7-pin into it, then the 7-pin coming out of the controller to X5."
  6. I would guess £500 + + from a Dealer so not exactly dear if yours isn't working 😁 Check www.reaoem.com either search by Vin number then through the sections or by the Part number you have. If you aren't aware double click the part number and you should get a list of alternates. Then check the normal Auction sites but don't forget there is a healthy BMW Specialist dismantler network they may help Dave
  7. Morning Chris Welcome to the Forum How frustrating, but if I remember back in the 70's British Leyland would have happily delivered the car warts and all 🤣 (I had a couple) Good luck keep nagging the Dealer Dave
  8. Morning John Karl For me that would indicate either an ABS sensor is down or the ABS controller has a Fault (not unknown) There are several companies that repair the ABS controllers at a reasonable cost and Warranty their work, the controller can be removed without disturbing the Brakes. An ABS sensor is around £20 make sure the reluctor ring is clean and not filled with crud (seen that a few times) fiddly to clean but worth it. Google will help with test procedures for ABS Sensors Don't know what system you brought locally but it seems to have moved you forward so Good Buy Dave

  10. Morning Christopher Oh dear !! Sounds like Trans Fail Safe has been triggered Causes could be Low Trans Fluid could be a Solenoid sticking could Torque converter related could be a Mechatronics unit issue ZF who make the transmission in your car recommend service at 60 to 100k so due by your mileage. Find a good Trans Specialist they should be able to scan the box update the software and service it (just make sure they use the correct ZF Longlife Fluid As a comparison my E53 4.6is with Dinan cams and throttle body (400 + hp) is on 164k it gets a hard life when it's driven and is smooth even under hard acceleration but has been serviced (last one flush as well) Dave
  11. My poor beautiful old E46 can retire now ahah
  12. Glad it worked 😃 Try (if you aren't already) www.realoem.com for BMW parts numbers some times it takes a visual search of the sections as I don't think it would find Gizmo 🤣 Dave
  13. I’ve just ordered a 220i coupe, obviously very excited. But was just wondering. What head unit people are seeing in their new deliveries this year. High 4 or High 5/idrive 8 or 8.5? Also long are deliveries taking from order the UK realistically?
  14. I have a 5 series on a 20 plate. I have trouble trying to here my spoken direction from the satnav can anyone please let me know how to make the spoken direction louder so I can here them over the engine noise?
  15. Hi John I am not aware of Right Connections worth a Google search to see if their kits are "Universal" or Specific to a model The local Company I used (Tanfield Towbars) ordered in the Oris kit for the X5 and it came with the loom complete It just needed plugging into the PDC controller and registering to the chassis. If the trailer plug is connected to the car the rear PDC is disconnected but the rear view camera is still in use. I would think any competent Towbar Specialist would know how it all goes together and how it should work Dave
  16. Had the same problem my self. Found out that it was from the cover below where there are two quarter turn screws. one of the clips was missing so the screw could not tighten up on.bmw part no. B.07.14.9.321.590. hope that helps
  17. Morning Steve Welcome to the Forum If your car didn't have Bilstien as OEM it will not accept the inserts Start with www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your Model. Then search the relevant sections the small exploded drawings are useful for identifying where stuff fits and how and the part numbers are good for Googling the best source/price etc. If you double click the part number it will bring up any alternatives/models parts were used on. Good Luck Dave
  18. Morning Ste Welcome to the Forum I fear that BMW is your only route with such a new vehicle BMW stopped access to www.realoem.com from 2019 year on making life increasingly difficult for anyone who wants to make changes or upgrades. Good Luck Dave
  19. Morning Jason Welcome to the Forum Good to have a fellow Tinkerer on board Dave
  20. Hello Dave. I called the local dealers to find out what their mechanics knew. They said their aftermarket dash cams are fixed with sticky pads so maybe your b-i-l's is an aftermarket one. I didn't have the vin to hand when I checked realoem yesterday morning so I wasn't sure I was looking at the right model, but I've found the vin now though so I can be sure of looking at the right model. Perhaps I can fathom out this double lining, if it really is a thing. Also there are speakers in the roof, as per my previous post. Theoretically - and as already paid for - Halfords should be able to do this; and they do factor in 2 1/2 hours for doing it which I would have thought was enough time even when taking the extra tailgate work into consideration. Halfords is Road Angel's preferred installer (!). We don't have the panoramic roof, although the previous one did - and a not very good sunroof! I think first I'll call the other two local Halfords and see what they have to say, as between the tailgate videos and your information I think I understand it all and there's clearly not much to do, barring accessing the loom at the hinge, that they wouldn't be doing on any car. My husband's not very technical and work takes up a lot of our time otherwise I think we could do it ourselves. Thanks so much Dave for being so helpful - you'll be please to know that I'll keep you posted!! Sue
  21. Morning IIija Welcome to the Forum Normally with aftermarket Head units there will be a Canbus interface that plugs in to allow all in car controls to work as normal I would guess either the Canbus interface hasn't been fitted or is at fault have you tried contacting the Manufacturer to see if they can offer advice ? Installation manual for example that may give clues. Good Luck Dave
  22. No need to be sorry Dave, you’ve been amazingly helpful. Thank you.
  23. Morning Mehmet Sometimes when confidence goes in a car moving on is the best thing Good luck with whatever you decide after all we get cars to enjoy not stress us out Dave
  24. Have you had a Diagnostic scan using a BMW capable scanner? Check the ignition switch and circuit. I take it the "Display" is the cars screen ? Dave
  25. Morning Liam Welcome to the Forum Not good any Idea how bad an accident ?? Worth checking the Engine mounts and the Transmission mount Engine mounts have a vacuum attachment which can effect running and vibration Dave
  26. Morning John Welcome to the Forum A quick look at www.realoem.com shows 3 alternate part numbers First 13621286064 discontinued in 2004 Next 13627547981 and last 13621279704. Try Google to find a supplier of any of these These were used on your model plus 3,5,and 7 series cars that used that engine Hope this Helps Dave
  27. Morning Phil Welcome to the Forum Depending on Year up to around 2008/9 I believe it was in the boot right hand side after that it was I think it was combined with the Junction box that is buried behind behind the Glove Box. Check online for some Video help and a bucket of Patience 😅 Check the loom carefully my E70 had persistent PDC issues it turned out to be a crack in the insulation on the front bumper loom. Good luck Dave
